The Cincinnati Mero Chapter was recognized in FFRF's 'Freethought Today' newspaper volume 42 number 1 Jan-Feb 2025 on page 15.
From FFRF National:
Let your local chapter members know right away that they are part of a huge success putting up billboards in swing states before the November election! Your members will be proud.
TOTAL RAISED
The total raised by all Chapters to put up Swing State Billboards is an amazing $31,876.00
We had 19 out of 21 Chapters participate with supportive spirit, with 17 Chapters contributing financially! Good job on coming together, Chapters!
WHERE AND WHEN
FFRF President Annie Laurie has graciously agreed to take on the task of working with the outdoor media companies on behalf of the Chapters. She will soon be talking with swing state chapters and others to determine the best locations. The idea is to locate these in highly populated areas of like-minded voters, to pull in higher percentages to the polls. We're looking at scheduling the billboards to go up in September, and hope some can remain in place through October, maybe longer.
FFRF-CMC has partnered with our Community of Reason (COR) friends to co-sponsor a $750 campership to Camp Quest, Ohio.
Please kindly consider donating and/or volunteering to this wonderful organization. http://campquestohio.org

This $1000 scholarship award is made possible by a grant from the Cincinnati Metro Chapter of the Freedom From Religion Foundation.
The application deadline is July 31, 2024.
For application requirements, go to: Scholarships - Secular Student Alliance (secularstudents.org)
FFRF-CMC has made a contribution to help putting up billboards in the swing states. You too can participate right now! These are going up in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona, Georgia, and Nevada. For every vote received by either major candidate in the 2020 presidential election, two people did not vote! This billboard is speaking to the like-minded non-voters in the most critical states, letting them know the entire country is counting on them!
Please contribute! Cut-off date to participate is May 31, 2024.
Thank you for being a concerned supporter!
What a great day 3/2/24 for volunteering at the Freestore Foodbank. FFRF-CMC partnered with Community of Reason (COR) members and others putting together food packs that will help almost 1,000 people in need.
At our last FFRF-CMC Chapter Meeting 2/29/24 we rolled out to members a great tool that we received from FFRF National's 501-c4 Action Fund that they use to track state legislative bills in the Ohio and Kentucky area. This is a great link that requires no login credentials, can be sorted any number of ways by clicking on < in the column headings, etc. to drill down to what bill topics, which state, FFRF's stance, etc. On the far right has a link that will take you to the actual state governments website to see more information on where these bills stand in our state governments.
Check it out!

“God and Country” is being shown at the Esquire theater...
If you have a concern, question and want to learn more about the Christian Nationalist movement in the United States, there is now a great new opportunity to do so in Cincinnati. The new documentary film, “God and Country” is being shown at the Esquire theater starting Friday 2/23. The date for the gathering of secular humanists and like-minded others is now set for Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at 7 PM. The ticket price on Tuesdays is the lowest of the week at $5. A post-film discussion if planned for those interested.
The Rob Reiner produced documentary, while examining the history of the rise of Christian nationalism in the US and its danger to democracy, is partly aimed at Christians generally, sounding an alarm as to how damaging (and unChristian) Christian Nationalism is for Christianity too. The film's Emmy-winning director, Dan Partland, explains "The danger to democracy led me to explore this topic, but what I learned in the process is that the threat may be even greater to the Church itself."
A big shout out to Chase!, Brewmaster at 'Sonder Brewing' located at 8584 Duke Blvd. Mason, OH, for being such a gracious host for the FFRF-CMC Social and behind the scenes tour on Friday Feb 2nd, 2024. We had so much fun getting to know a new member (Phil), the wide variety on the menu, and the fantastic brews at Sonder. Cheers!
Dec 15, 2023 Based on member voting, FFRF-CMC donated $1,000 to the Freestore Foodbank Cincinnati headquarters. What a wonderful organization that makes a real difference to so many people in the tri-state and surrounding counties.

Virtual Event over Zoom
Learn techniques using the Socratic method to have conversations with those holding a different belief. Street Epistemology (SE) is all about having a respectful and insightful way to ask foundational questions about someone's belief that oftentimes are not supported by facts or evidence. Special speaker: Dali Sadhana.
Special guest speaker, FFRF National's Legal Fellow, Sammi Lawrence shared the latest separation of church and state violations that are happening in our tri-state area, explaining how FFRF responds to them, and the results of their actions.
Our Chapter President, Mark Davis, will share lessons learned from the recent American’s United national conference. He’ll review the concerns as well as the inspiring approaches and strategies underway to fight the threats to Separation of Church & State.
The erosion of the Separation of Church and State is having a devastating impact on secular education and the public school system. Find out how national and state governments are breaking constitutional laws by infusing religion as part of the system.
We will be updating our members of on-going projects and further discuss our future plans for the chapter.
We will also have a lively discussion on the dangers and threats Christian Nationalists pose here locally and nationally. Feel free to share recent articles and news stories pertaining to Christian Nationalism to add to the discussion. We'll be presenting some interesting data and trends to watch out for.
